Questions
I'm an out-of-network provider, which means payment is due at the time of service. I can provide a monthly superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement — many PPO plans cover a portion of out-of-network care. It's worth calling your insurer to ask about out-of-network mental health benefits.
Psychotherapy is clinical treatment — diagnosis-informed, goal-oriented, and structured around your mental health. Forest therapy retreats are restorative group experiences, not treatment. Some clients do both; nature-based individual sessions blend the two, using the outdoors as the setting for one-on-one therapeutic work.
It depends entirely on what you're working on. Some people come for a focused eight-to-twelve session stretch around a specific issue. Others stay longer. We'll talk about it openly and revisit the plan as we go — you're never locked in.
Both. I see clients over a secure video platform and in person in Columbia, Missouri. Nature-based walking sessions are in-person only and weather-dependent, at parks around mid-Missouri.
Yes. Everything we discuss is protected by law and professional ethics, with the standard narrow exceptions (imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, and suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult). I'll walk you through all of this at intake.
